It consists of a cylinder shaped cartridge with fanfold filter media between the beige ends. This long life filter can be washed by holding it under running water. I've been using this filter (with my Hoover windtunnel) for over 10 years and it has never failed me! I will be buying another one soon so that I can wash the old one with water and soap and have an extra one while it is drying...I can't believe that the other poster gave this product a one star because of him NOT reading the instructions. The Hoover Windtunnel is a great little vacuum also!!

I could not be more pleased. Tried it out last night...fits perfectly into canister..works like a charm! Since I just received it, I have not tried washing it yet but love that it offers this option. Will definitely be ordering again. Thank you.

Works perfectly and washes up just fine. My Windtunnel had quit suctioning even though I would rinse the filter often and thought that it was fairly clean, however, if you don't get down in the grooves, dirt builds up. With this replacement filter, the vac is working great again.

Not sure it is genuine Hoover. No packaging but it
looks to be as good quality as the original.
